Nerve Blocks & Interventional Procedures care conditions

Precision-Guided Nerve Blocks for Targeted and Lasting Pain Relief

Interventional pain management uses image-guided nerve blocks and minimally invasive procedures to identify and treat the source of pain. These techniques offer significant relief for chronic, post-surgical, cancer-related, and neuropathic pain while reducing reliance on long-term medications.

At the Department of Pain & Palliative Sciences, our interventional team performs diagnostic and therapeutic blocks using advanced fluoroscopy and ultrasound imaging to ensure accuracy and safety.

All interventions are performed in a dedicated, sterile pain suite by fellowship-trained pain physicians, following international safety and aseptic protocols.

Gastroenterology FAQs

Are nerve block procedures painful?

Procedures are performed under local anaesthesia and sometimes mild sedation, so discomfort is minimal. Most patients tolerate them well.

Depending on the type of block, relief can last from weeks to months. Radiofrequency ablation can provide relief for 6–12 months or longer.

Most procedures are outpatient with minimal downtime. Patients can usually resume normal activities within 24–48 hours.
